Brauner Valvet vs Neumann M147

Forums

Hi,

I narrowed down my quest for a good vocal mic to these two - they fit my budget well and both are supposed to sound very good and got good reviews and have an acclaimed brandname.
Which one would you go for? The mic will go in either the Preamps of a Trident 65 or a Joemeek VC1Q. I am looking for a full and close sound, with a fine and detailed top-end.

Neumann M269 vs. U67

Forums

Anybody out compared the M269 and U67. From what I understand the tubes a bit brighter and the M269 has a little less distortion. My application would be primarily female vocals with sparse arrangements in a ballad context (brazillian and ambient music). I'm sure they vary from mic but I'd love to hear any user feedback on these. The elam is way out of my ballpark. thanks.

Vintage KM84 mics

Forums

I've been (unsuccessfully) looking for a matched pair of vintage KM84 mics, which no one seems to have.

Considering how many of these have been sold I wouldn't think it difficult at all to find a pair somewhere, but so far - nothing! I see loads of U87's, 67's etc - all the large diaphragm stuff, but no 84's.

Neumann U57

Forums

I cant seem to come up with much info on this mic.
I'm considering buying it for the studio, yet the price is making me a bit suspicious.

Asuming the mic is in good condition is there anybody who can tell me more about it.

I had a U67 that I sold. Would that be close
to discribing this mic?
