How do you pan from left to right or right to left speakers on an audio selection in pro tools?

I would like to pan monitoring in the headphones while I am tracking, but there appears to be no way to do this. I can pan once the track is down, but not during tracking. I have tried fiddling with all of the settings I can think of.

Is there no way to pan the signal while tracking in Cubase?

How do you mix sounds up and down? As in guitar sounds like it should be higher, and the bass should be lower on the vertical axis..

I feel like an idiot because I cant think of a better way to ask that question haha

I know part of it must be using an EQ correctly, but is there anything else to it?

Is there a rule for panning drums? Do you pan from the drummers point or the audience?
I have always done this from the audience position but recently heard its a preference.

ok i bought a delta 1010 lt 8 mono ins and outs ive got a dynamic mic plugged into mic 1 of the delta and speakers plugged into 1/2 out of the delta.i want to pan my vocals to left or right on recordings but if i hard left i hear nothing hard right i can hear playback but the volume just lowers down i have no mixer or pre-amp just speakers,headphones,dynamic mic,magix music studio software,what

There is something which has been bothering more and more of late, a nagging feeling that I am missing a very significant link in my understanding of reverb and stereo image.

Several months back on another forum a few of the participants had a too-short discussion on Panning Practices.
There were two schools of thought:
1. Those who utilize the entire panorama when placing instruments / vocals in a mix, and
2. Those who use only three positions: full left, full right and full center.

ok I'm using adobe audition and i can't figure out how to do the 360* pan. I cant remember how i did it a long time ago, but i searched through every affect and couldnt find it. I tried the merry-go-round, but that didn't work right

i want it to starts from like... the left ear then go around to the right and back to the left
