The guy at the local music store told me I can't upgrade my i/o to something bigger like MOTU. He says I have to stick to Digidesign hardware. Anyone know about this?

We're preparing to gear up our new studio to be able to record full bands. Trying to decide which will be the best fit. Will have both Logic and Pro Tools(003 Rack) on the same daw, so would like to be able to control them both. Currently have a Focusrite ISA 428 which we'll be adding additional channels of outboard pres.

hey i juss bout a used copy of pro tools m-powered but its not reconizing the ilok, i installed the PT and when it says to plugin the ilok i plugged it in but it says ilok not found,

i tried going to the ilok website n downloading a registration thing, but that didnt work either

anybody have any idea on whats wrong?

One of my clients approached me and asked if I could 'master' his recording. I told him that I put MaxI'm and get the overall level up to -.5dB, but I wouldn't do any more than that, and that he'd have to get someone else if he thought it nessissary.

I'm about to buy a mac laptop.

Is it possible to use a PreSonus firepod as the main audio interface with Pro Tools software? I realize I won't get the onbaord DSP (TDM) that Pro Tools hardware would provide, but could I still use the firepod as my main audio IO and use only RTAS plugins?

I would like to know only because I'm going to record on a Pro Tools rig tommorow and I'd enjoy it very much if I could sync a MIDI file to the Pro Tools click!

Hi, Do I have to have an mbox or w/e just so Pro Tools can run? Cuz i have a mixer that i was going to record tracks into another program and then export them to Pro Tools so i would have no use for a Digidesign Pro Tools hardware like an mbox. Can that work?

I am using Pro Tools 7.1 on a PPC Mac (OS x 10.4) and keep getting "Could not complete your request because Assertion in CNeolnode.cpp, line 1242."

Ok, well, I'm a very long time PT user(LE and HD) and the other day MattP insisted I give REAPER a shot. I definitely tortured it all day today on my Quad Opteron rig. Pretty impressive.
