DIY Headphone Volume Control
In my quite compact home studio, my rackmount headphone amp works fine, however I'd like to put a more versatile setup together for location work. It looks like I'll have a big gig in the near future which will involve headphones widely distributed on a stage.

mic volume and clarity... & compressor question
i have a stagg-pgt70 microphone and i've been recording w/ the microphone boost option on in the advanced volume mixer but the sound doesn't sink into instrumental behind it. what is the problem? it doens't sound like 1 sound, like a song but more like an instrumental w/ a voice over.

Poor volume with mic recording - please help!
I have been doing a lot of MIDI (software synth) and guitar line recordings through a Tascam US-122 external sound card without glitch.
low volume in Cubase
hey just recorded a rough demo into Cubase using my multimix firewire mixer. all the gains were at the correct level. once recorded into Cubase I noticed that after a quick mix of the song the volume of it doesn't match that of say an mp3/playback computer alerts/mp3s etc.
maybe the inputs on the mixer within Cubase were down?

Easy but professional DAW-Fadervolumecontroller wanted!
hello!
i use Pro Tools LE7 with the digi002 rack. now i wanna have a DAW-controller with 8 faders for my 8 hardwareoutputs. does an EVOLUTION UC33E work with my hard- and software? i know: DIGIDESIGN COMMAND 8 would be the best, but isn't there another/cheaper solution which works without problems? thanx for your help!

Master volume vs. . low volume mixing
I've heard that it's better to mix every channel in a digital mix in a low volume so that the master output channel doesn't clip, instead of lowering the master volume 3,4,5dB to avoid master output mixing, is this necessarilly true? why?

Yamaha HS80M or KRK RP8 (Rokit) low volume listening
Hi,
Dynamics vs. . Volume: How does this clip sound?
I've been on a Radiohead, Hail to the Thief kick lately, and the mastering is very quiet, with excellent dynamics. So, I've been trying very hard to work with dynamics in my masters lately, while preserving loud volume. Here is the latest experiment at -9 dB RMS in the loud section. How dynamic or squished does this clip sound to everybody?
