i've tried other places with no joy...so please bear with me if possible..
i have a 733 G4 (silver one) and i cannot get the damn thing to write below 8 X..this is driving me mad.
i'm using Adaptec Jam. i've turned off every extension that i think could get in the way (i'm running OS9.2.2)
any help would be most welcome..

it starts to write the lead in then i get the Mac message "connection is unstable" and then it takes 5 minutes to write the 'lead out'. very frustrating.
i have a feeling that the internal drive can't write under 8 x ..it looks like i may have to use my other USB cdrw (a total drag) and plug it in when i need to burn tracks at a slower speed..
