I recently purchased a Tascam US-122 USB interface for my Toshiba M45 Laptop. SO far I have gotten everything running well except for one thing.

The Laptop has a 1.6 Ghz processor, 504 megs Ram, using a Micronet 160 Gig External Firewire HD to record to.
I
I have all of the audio set to use the US 122 including the midi.

I am using the Cubase LE software that came with the US-122. I,m kind of familiar with it from using an earlier version of Cubase.

Here's the issue...

If I set a midi drum track to use the VST "LM7" drum instrument, I end up with a pretty annoying amount of latency between the click and the drums. I currently have the click set to use gm. If I try setting the click to use LM7 I get no sound at all for the click. I tried different channels on the LM7 to see if that was it but no luck. I figured that if I had the click using the same instrument the latency would go away. I also thought that this was probably not the greatest fix anyway. I suspect that if I used other standard GM for anything that it would end up being out of sync with the VST.

Another thing I noticed is that if I set the click to use "Audio Click" (Which I hate by the way) the sync is fine between the LM7 and the click.

So it appears that there's some sort of lag in processing the GM stuff. Anyone have ideas so that I can have a solid click with VST and GM?
