Well, I finally put my LynxTwo up for auction on eBay. I'm going to miss that card, but I really need the money.

I'd like to try to get a decent soundcard for $200-250. I really only need two ins and two outs. Any suggestions? I know it won't be nearly as good as the LynxTwo, but oh well.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

I do not know if they have made any great improvements in the last few years to the MIA card, but I know that mine gave me no end of issues where latency was concerned. If latency is not a problem for you, the MIA is a great card, but... I just replaced mine with a Delta 66 because I was getting a solid second worth of latency between hitting the key on my controller and hearing the note. It also tended to prevent VSTi's from playing back correctly while listening. Only when I mixed down did they sync properly.

This is not to say that it was not user error on my part. I just know that when I installed the Delta 66, all of these issues went away and it's the same user. So... take that for what it's worth.

Well, this shows one thing - that these cards are in great demand. There was a rather large gang bidding on this baby.

There hasn't been any LynxTwos on ebay (not even new!) for at least a month - there has only been one L22. So unfortunately, it means buying new at near full price. I have found a new 2c for $950. It also means that their value should hold up for quite a while yet.

Maybe when the Aurora 8/16s take off (with firewire) a few more might surface.

The LynxTwo is still for sale.

I had to cancel the auction because people were having trouble searching for the item. For example, if you typed "Lynx sound card" into eBay's search bar, the item would not come up (I listed the item as "LynxTwo").

So I'm selling the card for $780 (free shipping). I'd even give you a return policy, the terms of which we could negotiate. To contact me, just go to eBay. My username is the same there as it is here (michaeltk).
