Hey everyone,

I just decided to start getting into recording, so I got a pair of Tascam VLX5's and an mBox2, but now I have a few questions.

- How do I add a sub to the Tascams?

- Can I use the mbox as a soundcard outside of Protools? I'd like to be able to say, watch a concert DVD and hear it through the moniters which are only hooked up to the mbox.

- I have a podXT live, which goes directly out through USB. Is there a way to have this show up in Pro Tools, so I don't have to have it go through extra digital -> analog -> digital conversions?

Thanks everyone!

Can't help you on the sub thing.

Yes you can use the mbox as your soundcard. Really you have no choice unless you want to continue switching back and forth between drivers.

Re the PodXT: Doesn't this have a digital out? AES/EBU? I thought they did.Edit I see that the XT live does not have a digital out other than the USB. Unfortunately the Pod and Mbox run on different drivers. You can only have 1 set of drivers running in ProTools and PT will not even run on any other drivers other than the digi driver it came with. If you were running Cubase or Some other DAW on the other hand, you could switch between drivers just for tracking your guitars, then export/import them to ProTools. Cubase SE is only $99 US and would be just fine for what you need it for. Samplitude SE is also $99.
