Diary of a audio newsgroup Rec.Audo.Pro
OK, I admit I have a slight internet problem! (Ahem!)
:)
Therefore - as my New Years resolution I am limiting myself to the following; Rec.Audo.Pro,
-just twice a week.
:D
But I will get by with a little help from my friends!

Cubasis or Cubase?
I'm in the process of purchasing a Tascam US-428, which comes with [Cubase] VST  . Now, from what I've read Cubasis has all I need to compose, produce and record (on CD) all of my musical ideas. Is this true? And also, what are the benifits of Cubase over this version...anyone?

It aint braggin if you can back it up
I have been reading a lot about Sonar, I even downloaded the trial version, but that doesn't tell me what I want to know.
My main question is how do you back up a complete project, say you want to save your masters or something. When I save a work file to disk, it doesn't save the audio.

Instrument scrolling
"In cakewalk, from the track view window you can enter a patch number, and then by simply hitting the plus and minus keys you can have your tone modules play the track on every instrument available. This is great for auditioning which piano, strings, or bass etc. you want to use on a song. You can do this while the song is playing."

TDIF & Sonar
I am a newbie to DAW, so please bear with me.
I have ordered a TDIF PCI card to transfer audio from my Tascam DA-88 to PC via a PCI-822 Tascam TDIF card.
I have downloaded the Sonar demo. How do I tell Sonar to put the 8 TDIF sigs on separate tracks? Will it automatically sense the TDIF sigs or is there a set-up procedure?

sorry for another "what mic is best" post, but:
i am just wondering what i should check out for mics [vocal, mostly] that have mad air on the top end...

Logic Benchmarks
Hello, dear logic users and such to become!
To elaborate, what it needs to run logic on a PC or Mac, it would be somewhat interesting, what YOU are able to do with logic with different hardware-setups:
