Ambient mic always causes phase issues with close mic on guitar cab

Forums

I keep seeing recommendations on the net for using two mics on a guitar cab at once. One dynamic mic close to the speaker cab while an ambient room mic is 4-8 feet away. When I try this, I run into phasing issues as expected. I suspect there is no way around the phase issue aside from correcting it in the daw, perhaps that is the point?

Transferring pt files from 32bit system to 64 bit pt system questions

My cousin recently got a new system, the old is a dual core "sweet water creation station" the new is just a Mac Pro quad, and UA Apollo quad.

The question is mainly about bit rate and if the raw audio files would just transfer, or if there's a process. I know so little about CPU stuff that I'm unsure about how os/daw system bit rate effects older files.

Are Studio Monitors Different From Live Monitors?

I just purchased the JBL SLR305, and I was wondering if it is okay to use them as (somewhat loud) monitors for live singing?

Would they get damaged from the volume? Should I purchase a live monitor to be on the safe side?

Sorry if the question seems "dull", but this is the first time I am really using monitors

Thanks in advance

MixWizard 14:4:2 and Ableton Live 9, need help!

So here are the deets. I have my MixWizard 4 (with USB installation) hooked up to my laptop, my laptop has enough space to run Ableton 9 just fine. I am sort of a noob to this setup having had Pro Tools for so long and wanted to try a new program to do live sampling. My latency is just horrid, I can adjust it but can get max 9ms from board to laptop. Not happy.

Is it possible to use the H4N to listen to a karaoke song while recording voice?

Hello all, I recently bought the H4N and I'm more than happy with it. It's just great but I have a doubt. I would like to record some songs (karaoke versions) but I can't find a way to play the song in the H4N while using headphones so the mic doesn't pic up the song, and, at the same time, record my voice on a different track.

Eventide's Mood - "How Does It Feel?"

Eventide today announced the release of a trial version of Mood, a plugin that characterizes the emotional content of music. Mood analyzes music including key, spectral content, tempo, dynamics and additional aspects to create a set of 'descriptors' which are then compared to a data base. The data base has been populated by people listening to and rating pop songs.
