What mics to use for location video production?
I am looking at buying mics for my edirol 4 pro hard disk recorder to use on location for short films/weddings/documentary work. I'm thinking of getting either a Sennheiser me66 or 67 and a radio mic (lavier/handheld). I am open to suggestions for a omni directional mic for ambient sound recording and any other suggestions that you have.
double Micing a voice
hi, I had this idea for recording vocals that some of you must tried varients of.
one mic clean, say a condensor (for me RODE Classic) through a clean pre (Quad 8) subtle compression if at all.
then the other mic thick and heavy, maybe an SM57 through my Altec 1567 mixer cranked up, then Altec 438c compressor also cranked.

Using a LCD Monitor Behind a Mic
I have a 4'x4' vocal booth. I was going to install a lCD monitor on the wall (behind the mic) so that I can drop lyrics onto it from the control room, to make it easy to pound out song after song. also, I can link it to a camera, and use it as a window. The vocal booth is far away.

Mic clip to fit DPA stereo boom and CMC5
I've just purchased a DPA UA0837 stereo boom - the one without the mic clips. Now, I didn't know this beforehand, but the sliders on the boom are designed to hold mic clips with a narrow thread (a la the DPA clips)... . The problem is that the sliders have a kind of groove that ensures that only clips with a very narrow base will fit there.

Mixing FOH mics with sbd feed for recording, delay?
Hi all,
Microphone Rentals?
Has anyone heard of any places that rent out somewhat high-endmicrophones? I've searched google and the forums, but have had no success on finding anything.
Thanks

MXL V67g or RODE M3?
Hi. I'm looking to buy another mic to add to my collection and am trying to decide on whether to go for the new RODE M3 or MXL V67g? I will be mainly using it for vocals. I already have a RODE NT1a, Studio Projects B1 and T.Bone RM700 (ribbon) and am able to borrow Shure SM57's and 58's. Which would you recommend as a good option for another colour?
Thanks
