pick a mic! please?
I'm looking at the Shure KSM27, AKG 3000 b and a Studio Projects TB1 Tube Mic. Has anyone had any luck with the TB1? Reviews say its great and supposedly near the quality of the high-endmics. I'm using it mostly for vocals but would like it to be more than a one trick horse. Are there any disadvantages to a tube mic?

Anybody have experience with the Microtech Gefell M960 mic?
Title says it... I had it recommended as a good omni, but I've never used one. I looked at the MG website and I see that it has quite the rising frequency response at the top end. Is it as bright as one would expect from such a plot? It also has that familliar directionality from the M50 where the top end is quite directional and the bottom is quite omni...
Anyways, thoughts?

Apex 460 and Telefunken M16. The Same mic?
I saw this over at another forum I frequent. Check it out. Identical parts, etc. The Tele is a $1399 mic, and the Apex is a $229 mic.
PS - Dan Richards does not sell these Apex OR Tele mics at his store (I tried to get the Apex from him).
I'm gonna try one for kicks and grins. Any input on this?

Best 2 Mics for Home Studio
Hi,
I'm in the process of setting up my first home studio and need some assistance in choosing the most suitable mics for recording mainly acouctic guitar vocals. First of all, I live in a place where the choice of mics is very limited and I would have to trust a pro's opinion and then purchase them online.

Vocals too Dynamic?
This should be pretty easy to knock out. First of all I have never messed much with preamps and I ran into this problem. I am recording vocals by running a KEL Audio HM1 into a Sebatron Thorax Channel strip and from there to the box.

Options for a second recording mic
Hi all, i'm ready to buy my second recording mic. I've got an sm58 for gigs and a RODE NT2A for recording. The RODE is a gorgeous mic but I'm not sure if i want to fork out the money to buy another NT2A. I need a good all rounder for vocals and acoustic instruments but without cutting the quality at all.

Pringles microphone.
So what do you do when you don't have a pop filter on hand, but you need to lay down some vocal tracks? Steal someones pringle can and cut the bottom off and duct tape it to your mic and duct tape some cloth over the front.yeahhhhh. Hey it works, I got some of that bullhorn midrange sound, because yeah, you're talking through a can, but that was easilly eq'ed out.

Question about the old RODE NT1 (not the NT1-A)
I've got an old RODE NT1 (again, this is not the NT1-A anniversary model out now). I've run into financial trouble and it is a little more microphone than I need right now, so I'm thinking about selling it. Problem is I can't figure out how much it is worth anywhere!
