Word Clock, RME and the ADA8000
Forums
Hi all,
I've got a quick question. One of my mobile rigs has 3 B* ADA8000's, going via lightpipe to a Nuendo RME/Digi. I've been thinking about maybe tightening up the sync on the setup with wordclock and I'm looking for a reasonably priced clock generator (can't afford Big Ben right now!)

800R or octopre?
Forums
Which one? I have a 002R and I'm replacing my Mackie 1604 vlz pro with one of these units. I think i have to buy a add-on card for the octopre to get it to my 002 whick brings them to about the same price. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. For drums mostly. Or is that not really a good upgrade from the XDR pres on the mixer? Thanks for the input. :?

Impulses. .anyone make their own?
Forums
I was at a corporate function at the legendary Ryman Auditorium here in Nashville last night, maybe 150 people listening to a guitar pull with 4 songwriters of some repute. .really got a chance to appreciate the sound of the room. How would one go about capturing an impulse to use with SIR or equivilant impulse reverb? Now I need to figure out how to get in there on the off hours and do it!

Freq. Analysis of Pro recordings
Forums
Hey guys - just hoping somebody can shed some light on this for me:
When running any "pro" recordings i have on my computer through a freq. analyzer, i notice that there's a sharp drop of ~70dB above ~15K. I've always wondered what caused this. Is it a result of MP3/WMP encoding? Noise/hiss-reduction? Some other processing done post-mix?
Thanks,
-Dave

SeaSound Solo EX question
Forums
Anyone have a pinout and/or tech specs for the SeaSound Solo EX? I bought one without the card to use as a standalone mic preamp. Unfortunately I did not do my homework and see that it draws it's power from the pci card. So now I have to build/buy a 5V (i assume) power supply.

No one knows how to use it. He had it onstage today and all guitarists totally fuked their sound. (but they are usually to dumb to know any better). I plan to hire it for a session in my studio ASAP. Real kicked about it.
