Home studio idea...

I've always recorded my riffs, my ideas, EVERYTHING. And Its been great just have an okay computer, an okay mic that came with my computer, and an okay sound card. But I want to do a little upgrade. Okay, it might be more than little. But I want to buy some equipment I can use to get some high quality audio on a budget. Here is what I was looking at, and I'm thinking about investing.

M-Audio Audiophile Pre USB or Firewire *or* E-Mu 1820?

OK guys...it was suggested in another topic for a new Interface
to look into an M-Audio Audiophile Pre USB for my computer.

What about an Audiophile Firewire?

And what about the E-Mu 1820 or 1820m?
Ever since I saw one of these, I've become rather enamored of it...

Now remember...these are just for V-O...no music recording and no simultaneous I/O...

I have decided to buy a new PC and heard you can help

Hi,

I was told you guys can help me buy a new computer.

To begin with, I've decided to Echo's Layla 3G, which comes with Tracktion.

I write, sing and play a Martin D35.

I'm hoping to keep the price under $600, and will only need the tower (I think). We have a Best Buy, Circuit City, and various other computer stores here.

I have created Auratones

Had fun today, here's what I did. Finished mixing a song a couple of days ago and i had borrowed one Auratone speaker from my neighbouring studio for mono-vintage-radiobroadcast-midrange-sounding monitoring. I usually do that to finetune mixes, tells right away if something sticks out too much. Returned the Auratone and missed it right away.
