I need to buy new studio monitors, i have few choices such as
KRK Rokit 8,
Mackie HR 824,
Event 2020bas V2 Bi-amp,
Event TR8,
Event studio precision 6,
and Genelec 1030A.

What would you suggest,what are your opinions, and what are your expiriences?
Has any one own KRK rokit 8, are they accurate?

I was wondering of any one can tell me how to automate vst instruments.
Particulary the Master Filter in Ilio's Stylus, and other global functions in DX plugins and vst plugins, such as Waves plugins, or t racks.

i have pro tools 002 rack and would like to be able to use a outboard compressor and reverb unit i have in my mixes. when i send the track(s) out and back in thru these units, i get a delay.

If you were going to buy two different flavors of preamps for recording vocals and electric guitars, which single-channels would you consider, assuming these were the only two you could use?

Basically, I need some amount of diversity, but the two also need to work together somewhat.

Any suggestions?

I was just reading a post, I forget which one, and there was a person generalizing that elite engineers hate the SM57. I can imagine that someone with a plethora of money to spend on a mic collection wouldn't pick an SM57 as their first choice, but I do feel this mic serves a purpose in any collection.

Just bought the breaking benjamin CD. congrats man and good work :) Can u share with us what was done (post tracking) for his vocals? And what mics were used. I love the vocal sound on "So Cold". Thanks.

ok... i have a subject i'd like to discuss...

I read that if you have a better mic preamp than the ones in the 002 you can use the optical ins/outs so that you can bypass the pre in the 002. My question is this: What if I need my sampler to be in sync with my 002 (drums, etc)? Will I have to switch every time or is there a less complicated way than this?
