A few months ago I bought a Digital Audio Wave 8799 laptop. It's a P4 3.4 gHz, 1 gig of ram, the works. It cost a pretty penny and is supposedly designed for audio.

(I may carry it out but for now it's just for a bus. 200 level class)... and I needed to know, on average, in a professional studio... how many employees are there? lol that sounded wrong so here's the rephrase. Over here in the UK, I can get the API 3124+ for the same price as a 6 space Lunchbox (inc PSU) and 2x 512C. At the moment, i'm not gonna need more than two of the pres, but it seems silly to get a lunchbox when i could have twice the amount of pres. Though I'd bet i'll want some API EQ in the future, so i keep looking at the lunchbox.

anybody got a midas, venice board? I was curious if they are more of a live board? I am looking for a board that will be good at mostly recording sessions.

This sounds like a really good product. Can anyone give me any feedback as far as quality? Capabilites with other recording programs such as cool edit pro? anything would be great!
