I just bought a Revox C278 1/2" 8-track. It was on eBay, and there was no picture of it, but the price seemed to be right...so I gambled and bought it.
Now I've received it, and it seems to be in near mint condition. There is no visible head wear. It operates at 7.5 and 15 ips.

I haven't been able to get Pro Tools to acknowledge digital signal from the Focusrite ISA428 ADAT outputs.

The main problem seems to be that in my Hardware preferences, I can't change the Optical choice from S/PDIF to ADAT. Its greyed out.

What do I do?

Great statement! After putting a vmp4000e directly into my PT24 888 I was smiling the rest of the day. It not only warmed everything up but the S/N was much higher. I think this statement is worth discussing in detail.

Here's the deal. I was just listening to some streaming music and "Wannabe" came on. I must say that I was boppin around my office as I did some paperwork.

Very strange! I can't get any midi files to work on my DAW that's Win2K. I've tried to run them in Cubase and my tried and true ancient MasterTracks Pro 6.0. It just freezes the system forcing me to shut down and cold boot up again. What could it be? I know that both programs work normally under Win2K and have MasterTracks installed on another machine that's running Win2K with no problems.

I had a basic midi question for a beginer. I have a mpc and just got a keyboard... I want to connect them together and use the mpc as the main sequencer.

After connection is done, how do I here the audio from both machines.

Has anyone tried or is currently using the Mackie control surface ? I wanted to get an opinion as to how it works and feels coupled w/ Cubase sx. I'd like to get rid of the mouse. :cool:

I am STILL trying to assemble my 1st ever DAW. I have a 933Mhz G4 and probably will end up using DP4 software.
I record guitar based pop w midi keys and drums.
I am a long time former home writer/recorder, using 1/2" tape and syncing to midi via SMPTE.
Now my question is exactly what hardware pieces will I need to get underway here?
