Gang, it's rare that I open a bottle of champagne, but tonight's the night. We have a new moderator here at the pluginsForum, and that moderator is no other than Alecio Costa. Most of you folks already know Alecio from his frequent participation here and on the other forums, so I don't have to tell you that he is terrific guy with a ton of experience both in front and behind the board.

I decided that a new look was needed plus a different approach to the way I need to work as well as the amount of desktop space needed!

Hi.

I will be recording a brass quintet in the next month or so. The instrumentaion is 2 trumpets, horn, trombone, and tuba. The set up is in a half circle shape(tpt, hn, tuba, trb, tpt) with the outer trumpets facing one another.

By complete accident I came across the infamous Mackie thread. Long story short, I was initially a little uneasy(you know how the brain works...I have the Mackies), but ultimately, it all made sense and I agreed with you completely. I've had the same problems as everyone else.

I would like to know what was the gear, recording style, and studio were used on the first two police records . Thanks in advance

Ok, whats the deal with normalization? Good? Bad? Indiferent? Why? Someone want to fill me in?

I own the Audio-Technica AT4033 & AT3035 condenser mics coupled w/ Aphex 107 mic preamp. I'm trying to capture some good tones when tracking an acoustic guitar. I've experimented and found that if I place the mic between where the body and neck meet, I get some pretty good tones versus getting either a boomy or boxed tone.
