I have a XP80 and to tell the truth, this keyboard has beem somewhat a pain in the ass.

I am a huge fan of Roland, pionered their DM800 older DAw line in Brazil, helped solve some bugs, did do 2 machines function with a long rig of ADATs and so.. ( japanese team said it was not possible...)

However, funny things have happened with the XP:

I ponied up the cash for this book from the Recommended Books list on this board.

I am volunteering myself to be the complete newbie lab rat. It will be interesting to see if the How-To sections of this book are effective on complete newbs.

I am wondering if anyone here has actually used one, the proce doesn't seem too bad.

Hi, I am strongly considering uprgrading our 400 MHz G4 with one of the upgrade cards from Sonnet, or Mercury, the folks at OWC sell.
In the past i took an old 8600/300 MHz to G3/500 with good results. We plan to use it only on PT LE.

I am currently designing a new control room and am now wondering if anyone could advise me on chosing our main monitors. I am looking for monitors that will be soffit mounted and they can cost between $3000 - $4000 each. The room is about 100 cubic metres large. Any suggetion splease?

Would you explain to me how you use dithering? I think I understand what it does, but in my daily setup I find no use for it. What do you use it for and are there benefits I am not seeing because I don't understand it? Please feel free to get very in-depth with this if you like, I am perpetual student of all things and do not shy from learning something new.
