cross-platform project inport to DP 3

Greetings, This week I need to import a movie (Low rez) and mutiple audio stems from Adobe Premiere 6.0 (PC) to DP 3 (Mac)

Physical import, not a problem: audio file formats compatible, etc.

Challenge: keeping Audio locked to movie and vice-versa for transfer. All audio relates to specific scenes, no full-movie segments .
Advice appreciated!

Any of u folks seen this?

Hi folks.
I'm looking at a piece in the current issue of Australian magazine Audio Technology. Under an article entitled NAMM report is a photo and a bit of a rave about the new Yamaha DM2000. It has "the potential" to mix up to 96 inputs at full 24bit 96kHz, and the article lists some of its other features (new mic preamp's etc.). The thing that caught my eye however was this:

Retrospect DDS 3 Dilemma

I back up my Pro Tools audio and session files (Mac-based) with Retrospect (vs. 4.3) to a Sony DDS-3 Tape drive. For years I hardly had any execution errors, but now I get 25-30% of my files coming back with errors. Repeating the back-up a few times sometimes works, but sometimes after many repeated back-ups of the same data, there are still two or three files that don't get copied properly.

Check the Phase?

I keep seeing "check the phase" as part of an answer or advice given. I know how phase can help or hinder a sound but are there specific ways to "check the phase" (i.e. phase meter) or is it an ear thing (listening for lack of bass or phasiness)? Are there plugins like the Waves stuff that can help? What exactly does flipping the phase do to a sound and when do you use it?
