Basically I have a dilemma of where I just got a new laptop which does not have a firewire input but rather an ExpressCard 54 slot as well as USB 2.0 (obviously). I have a Firepod which is Firewire based.

recently i bought an at2020 from Audio-Technica, i bought the phantom power to go along with it its all hooked up but everytime i try to record with it it doesnt pick up any sound granted i dont have a mixing board i just have all electronic ones with the programs I'm using my buddy had the same predicament as i do but he messed with some stuff with his computer and fixed it up he just forgot w

With all the talk about ribbon mic's, lets stop skirting the subject, and go ahead and get it out in the open where we can dig into em'.

Basically I was using a SIIG 1394 Cardbus Adapter type deal to connect my old laptop to my Firepod as it had no firewire ports. I just got a new laptop (to make recording faster in part) and it also has no firewire ports, but it also has no Cardbus port. Instead it has an ExpressCard/54 Slot and of course 3 USB 2.0 ports.

Can anyone advise whether I should be using TS (unbalanced?) or TRS (balanced?) cables from an RNP to a Delta 44 (or whether it matters)?

Tinkling drum beater on drum head!

Ordinary drummers play on bass drum with pressing drum beater on the head and in that case beater provide little terrible tinkling sounds.

I know you hate questions like these because there really is no way to truly answer them but... When you want that kick or snare hit to really come through and pump, what would be a good attack setting for a compressor? Currently I have it set at 35ms. Should it be more? Should it be less? Should I give up? Nahhhh! 8)
