Getting Bass in the mix to sound good
Hey anyone got any tips for me to get my bass to stand out in the mix? I'm using pretty decent equipment really, thats not the problem (Ampeg B100r, Hofner HCT5001, Sennheiser e602II). But I just can't seem to get it to stand out. I've tried rolling off the bass and turning up the gain, and vis versa. I've dabbled with compressing it, but to no avail. Any tips?

Best way to record my bass with my setup
So I'm planning on getting a M-Audio MobilePre USB Portable Audio Interface to record bass/guitar
I'm wondering what will be the best way to record bass (for now), so I will be able to buy all the stuff together
I currently have an Ibanez Soundgear bass and a Fender Rumble 100 amp

Motown bass
Ok, so recently, I've been listening to a great deal of Motown, and I'm always amazed by the sound of the bass, specifically in songs like Papa Was A Rolling Stone. I doubt I'll be able to emulate that, and I also understand the bass players were simply great musicians, but just out of curiosity does anyone have any knowledge of the recording process used to capture the bass?

DI box to record a bass
I am looking for a DI box to record a bass in my home "studio" (if you can call it that).
Am I going to need to drop a wad to get a useable sound? Or can I get away with a 50$ box?
Thanks,
Jay

How do you get a good bass sound?
Hi, a bandmate of mine has been recording bass on a good fender through a decent head/cab setup. We're unsure of a few things such as:
1. what are good mics for recording bass guitar? We have sm57's, e606's,which work well for guitar, but don't know if they're the best for bass.

Kick Drum / Bass Mic Opinions.
Hello,
I am looking for opinions on which of these mic's might best suit my needs. The D112, Audix D6, or the beta52.
I am doing live recordings in clubs via a digi002 and an octopre.

mixing electric bass in stereo
Hey There,
I recently picked up a copy of the Bob Clearmountain Percussion and Bass sample library. In listening through the samples, I noticed that BC's electric bass is mixed stereo. It's a great sound - summing to mono significantly reduces the impact.
