Focusrite blue 230 compressor
Does anyone know about the Focusrite blue 230 compressor, and what kind of sound does it give? Is it a gluey sound that brings the mix together, like the Manley stuff, or a punchy sound like the api 2500 or the alan smart c2, or a transparent sound like the Crane Song stc-8, or neither, does it have a sound of its own?

Best Multi Purpose Compressor for Under £200
Hi, just looking for a bit of advice on the best compressor available for around £200. It will be used for most things, from rap vocals to sung vocals (tenor and bass), also guitars, bass, looped breakbeats, digital and real piano, analog (Juno) and digital (DX21) synth. Basically want something multi purpose.

How to use inserts (like a compressor and stuff)
hi
i'm fairly new to homerecording, and i was wondering, how to record mics...
i have a firewire solo from m-audio soundcard.
If i would buy a Behringer composer or something like that,
how should it be plugged so i can use it as an insert ?
ps: what stuff should i buy to enhance the sound of vocal recordings?
my setup right now is :
compressor recco please
I want a compressor that will a) Impart no noise, b) Have good controls esp fast meters so I can see how much I'm taking out really, c) A little color, d) little or no high-endloss when taking out 6 db, e) opto, but fast, or electro that is opto-like in its curve, f) No other impairments unless induced on purpose by the engineer. Price $1500 for two channels.

I need assistance with my C-com Samson Compressor.
Engineers told me there was a way to avoiding clipping, no matter how loud I speak on the microphone. But the case was not true. I purchased this compressor, and even when I talk loud, it goes past the 0db, how can I make it function correctly?
I'm running Nuendo.
Here is a picture of exactly what my compressor looks like.
