Compressors
Hi there,
I'm thinking about getting an outboard compressor (cheap - of course) for my setup to do some half-mastering! :) anyone got any suggestions - ive been told that the Joemeek stuff is good, but the TL Audio stuff doesn't live up to its price tag.

Let's share some reverb and compressor presets for drums!
Hi guys,
What do you think to share some presets of your personal library of settings?
I think that's a good way to learn and improve you mix skills!
I'll start to put something that a friend of mine developed and works fine at my studio.
COMPRESSOR:
This is for use with the drums overheads mics and with the PSP VINTAGE WARMER
software compressor kill the need for "colored" mics/preamps
I'm looking for a mic and a preamp for home studio recordings.
I reckon that if I buy a nice clean mic (Neumann TLM 103) and a nice clean preamp (Apogee Mini-Me), I'll do whatever tone coloring I need with a high class software compressor (for example UAD, Voxengo Marquis, etc).
So, no need for "colored" mics and/or preamps.
What do you think about this?
3-band compressor or 4-band?
I'd been using a 4-band compressor on everything, but recently I've been reading that most people use a 3-band compressor. Which is good for what type of sound? This is my first post on the forums! I finally got to the point where I need some expert advice on things most people don't know about. w00t for recording.org!

Good preamp, compressor before converters?
I'm getting a good preamp finally (either Avalon, Sebatron or Manley) and also considering getting a good compressor (Avalon or ?). I do still have cheap sound cards like Audiophile 192, Emu 1820m etc. Should I be worried about it? Should I be looking at a good/expensive interface too?

digital and analog compressor
hi,
i am in my fourth year at university and currently undergoing a final year project comparing digital and analog effects.
I need some really in depth information on this subjects, particularly comrpessors or reverb units as i plan to produce an analog and digital version of one or both of these effects for direct comparison.

Focusrite Voice Master Pro as Compressor...
Hi there community
I just got today my Voice Master Pro (sounds really nice for a novice ear! )
the only "compressor" i had it was a Composer Pro (Behringer).
Now i have a very dumb, maybe obvious question, but your opinion really matter for me :

Hardware Compressor
This might be a stupid question but I was wondering how u use your hardwarecompressor? I dont mean how to operate it, but how u hook it up.
I understand how to hook it up when I`m tracking (Mic - Micpre - Compressor - MOTU - Cubase... Right?)

alternative for WavesC1?
Are there any other frequency-selective (singleband) compressor plugins out there?
Thanks.
