Help! Vinyl mastering and money problems...
Hi, I produce beats for, and perform on Turntables in, a three piece band called Belleruche. We are just about to press our first seven inch (On a very low budget in the UK), and as a result of our singers Austrialian contacts we've had the first side mastered in Australia.

Recommendations for Outboard Mastering Compressor/Limiter
I recently added a SonicStudio HD system to our mastering room and I am seeking some suggestions for a brickwall limiter. I've currently got an API 2500 compressor which offers some nice old school character but I really need a decent sounding limiter. Unfortunately the local shops are no help since the salesmen typically don't use the gear they're selling.

Mastering for Radio, mastering for tv
hello group,
how does your treatment differ when you are mastering a track for radio and/or tv ? Do you do that at all these days ?
I usually push the bass-area up a bit (frequency-wise) including a high-pass (around 50hz). for radio I also push the midrange for approx. 1 db up.
does that make any sense for anybody ?
any suggestions apprechiated, best regards-

This is volume 1 of a planned series of reissues. There will be mono & stereo versions of each album on each disc. No word if the box set will be regular 16/44.1 CD or SACD / DVD Audio. Sleeves within the box will be copies of the original sleeve art.

Need mastering advice. .
I'm in the process of recording my old band and I'm completely oblivious to the whole mastering process so I'm taking the songs to a mastering facility. I plan on taking the songs to the facility as 24 bit aiff files on a data disc.
I've heard a lot of mastering engineers complain about too much compression, reverb, low end, high-end ...etc.

Mastering Chicago (the band)
Chicago has seen several remasterings over the years: the original Joe Gastwirt masters, the Doug Sax remaster for the CBS Masterdisc (CTA), the Mark Wilder remaster for the Group Portrait box, and the new ones done by Dave Donnelly for Rhino. I've heard that the recording methods used by their producer, James William Guercio, make mastering these tapes a challenge in some respects.

Maximizing after Mastering:
I'm in a bit of a dilemma..
After testing out the demo versions of various mastering plugins (Waves,Tracks,PSP etc) I still can't seem to get my tracks as loud as others in my itunes library.
Whilst the plugins added an overall leveling of balance and some nice sonic tweaking.. they still have not made my mixes as loud as I want them.
