Howdy

I'm looking for a few good MIDI programmers for a project that will lead even the most sane person to the brink of insanity (just look at me). This project requires a gaggle of skills some of which are:

- a comprehensive, El Tweako Grande MIDI sequencing skills

- an authoritative command of synthesis

- a firm grasp on contemporary music theory concepts

Wave to trigger midi via internal DAW software.

Hey Nate! A friend has a DAW and uses emagics, he has midi capability and sounds. His problem, he has a bass drum Wavestrack that he can't use, some distortion (clipping I expect), renders it useless to mix. He wants to trigger a midi bass drum track, useing the BD wave track as the trigger. What plugin , or set-up within his DAW would he use to accomplish this. Any ideas?

Automating Effects via MIDI

I have heard that you can automate MIDI-compatible effects units using a sequencer. MIDI is very confusing to me, but I'm sure it will cut down on the number of hands I need for mixdown! There are a number of projects I'm working on that need effects punched in and out. What are the best (affordable) sequencers for this purpose, and does anybody have any tips on using them?

MIDI only card or all in one card?

Just wondering what the gurus say - I use a Yamaha AW4416 and the editing is terrible! So I plan to pick up an ADAT card for my PC and fly tracks over for editing. As I have a few MIDI boxes (drums, keyboards) but don't normally use MIDI much at all, I was thinking now's the chance to get everything connected and synced up.
