MOTU and AMD ? I wanna get a MOTU UltraLite. I have a AMD dualcore with ASUS MoBo. I know I need a TI firewire card 'cause the interface "speaks" directly to that.
My concern is with the AMD processor - (which I've used with Tascam for 2 years). I've heard people say they have "issues" with AMD (as oppossed to INTEL) processors. Has anyone had similar experience?

i am recording with MOTU 896 HD's at 24/192, and i want my cousin on the other side of the world to do bass line, we will trade hard drives

question: all tracks on my end- guitar,vocals etc- will be recorded at
24/192, but my cousin can only record the bass at 24/96 as he has older converters

can we do this? we are both using digital performer 5.0

Hi, I'm using my MOTU 828 markII as an interface for my computer.
In my other room I have a drum set. I have a HP PreSonus which I'm trying to use for the drummer to listen to the track but I don't know how to connect it to the MOTU 828 an get sound from it.
Please help me .

I'm curious if there's anyone out there who's using the MOTU 8 pre and what your thoughts are.

I'm considering getting it, but before you go making comments or suggestions, let me explain *why* I'm getting it.

I'd like to buy either PreSonus' FirePod or MOTU's 8 Pre. I've noticed the MOTU is 150 dollars more than the PreSonus. So what am I getting in the MOTU besides the expandability, ability to switch between sample rates, talkback/listenback, and -20 db switches?

my drivers disc was messed up so i downloaded them from the website, and when i go under control panel to my sound and recording devices, it is recognized and says that it is working properly.

I have the MOTU 8pre interface [obviously] and an AKG Perception 200 Condenser [its phantom powered].

1. The MOTU works with all of my dynamic, non phantom powered mics.
2. The AKG works going straight through my mixer and through a monitor.

and now the problem:

3. I don't get any sound when recording with the AKG through the MOTU.

can i record a drum kit with the help of only 1 motu's 8 pre or do i need two of them. i don't use analog compressors just digital ones. what else do i need if drums can't be recorded alone with this device.
are the drivers stable with Sonar 6 producer edition.
