I've been recording on this mic for awhile now and I have question the sound of it. There is a certain harshness that I get with the vocals. My chain is NTK-Grace 101-dbx166XL-MOTU 828mk2.

I just got my firebox and started playing around with it, the first track I recorded to a click track in cool edit, and it recorded fine. I then started to record a second track using my preamp into the line input as track two in the same session, and the click was waaay off; delayed in the headphones when I was recording- and the track was full of pops and clicks.

I've got a stereo power amp which is 250w per channel RMS at 4ohm;planning on using it after a guitar preamp in the signal chain

I've also got a 4 x 12 400w guitar cab; it's wired so there's two inputs, one 8 ohm input for the left two speakers (200w), and one 8 ohm input for the right input, of the same power.

Greetings and salutations to all you recording enthusiasts. I'm gonna be purchasing an SE z5600a tube mic preamptty soon. Thing is i've acknowledged that fact that it does come with its own power supply which can provide 48v of phantom power. My question is will a seperate mic preamp(Grace Design 101) be necessary to juice up the mic?

Anyone have one of these and can let me know? I have a 304 with no supply, and before I buy one I want to see if I have anything suitable around.

Greetings everyone. I recently received a Pro Tools session from a friend of mine who has an HD system.

I bought an Mbox2 today and unable to get it to power up off my NEW ibook G4 (1.42ghz). went back to Guitar Center and they were unable to power up off thier NEW pwerbook (1.67 ghz). both laptops had Pro Tools 6.9.2 installed.
THEN we hooked it up to thier imac G4 desktop, without any Pro Tools installed, and it powered up! what's going on? :-?

I was hoping someone could help me decide on which of these 2 heads to get. I will only have enough cash for 1 at the moment.

I want to get a small 4 rack unit (SKB SLX) which I can carry on the road. I was thinking of mounting the M5 on it along with other units but I completely forgot about the B2T power supply that it needs which is so damn heavy. Have any of you mounted the power supply on the rack too? What do I do with it? Any ideas? It will be a pain to have another bag or something just for it.

Check this out. I've been using a furman RP-8 power conditioner for about a year now..its a little cheap piece, $45-50 or so.
