Neumann TLM-103 or RODE K2?

Forums

my price range is around $700-$800 and i am looking for either of these or any mic in this price range used. i run a small home studio right now in my home and i am looking to finally step into the world of owning a good large diaphragm mic for vocals. i use a KSM32 right now and i personally think its too multi-functional for really good vocals.

RODE Mike

Forums

I just had to put my 2 cents infor anyone thinking of getting new mikes. My wife and I decided instead of buying each other presents for Christmas this year we would give each other money this year and we would buy what we wanted for Christmas. Of course I wanted studio stuff so last night I went and bought a RODE NT-1-A and a matched pair of NT-5s along with some other stuff.

Blue Bluebird vs RODE NT1

Forums

Here's my dilemma...

I run a home based studio and I currently have access to two AT 4040 mic's. They're decent mics that work well for a lot of the stereo pairing that I use them for. However, they aren't mine (they belong to a drummer friend) and could be picked up and gone at anytime. So I'd be left without any large diaphragm mic's if they were gone.

RODE NTK into M-Audio 1010lt?. its too hot?..its too cold?

Forums

I just got this setup the other day mainly to record french horn in a mix and alone for practicing.
I guess I just assumed I would plug it in and there would be a slider on the mixer that I could control the gain with and if it was too hot I would turn it down until it is just right.

RODE NTK mic preamp

Forums

I have been using my Mackie VLZ mixer for a few years and would like to get a preamp that is a step up from that...My price range is ~500. There are many mic preamps in this range (grace 101, Summit 2BA-221, "The Brick", RNP etc.) and some of them are tube...Since my main vocal mic is a RODE NTK should I avoid a tube pre and go with something cleaner to bring out the NTK sound?
