Professional Home Voice Recording
I would like to make a professional voice recording of myself talking. I am a novice and have had a lot of bad luck trying to succeed in this endeavor. I need to know the following:
What would be a decent unidirectional microphone for voice?
What headset should I choose that is of good quality and wouldn't hurt my ears from wearing it a long time?

Omni-directional mic for background/far voices
Scenario: We have around 20-30 people meeting in a normal house living room and we would like to record the discussions. So we would need a microphone that can be placed in the center and that can record voices of people 15-20 feet away - more like being able to record all the background noises.
double Micing a voice
hi, I had this idea for recording vocals that some of you must tried varients of.
one mic clean, say a condensor (for me RODE Classic) through a clean pre (Quad 8) subtle compression if at all.
then the other mic thick and heavy, maybe an SM57 through my Altec 1567 mixer cranked up, then Altec 438c compressor also cranked.

Darker smooth mic for female voice
What mic would you recommend for recording female vocals? I already have a RODE NT-1a which I've found a little harsh, brittle and siblant with certain female vocalists.
One mic I'm seriously considering is the MXL V67g. Would this be a good choice?

Recording MIDI voices
I have a Yamaha MU-80 Tone generator. It contains the standard MIDI voices + xg and some preset proform voices.
I am trying to record a particular voice to PT LE MIDI track, and, of course, it is only recording the MIDI data. If the MU-80 is not on when playing the recorded tracks, it defaults to a paino voice.

USB Mic and Soundcard recomendations for Voice Recording
We are going to be recording software tutorials and so it will be voice only. The problem is that the pc's being used to record are small form factor with limited ability to add a sound card. So this brings us to the question, for voice recording is the internal sound card good enough or would a external USB type sound card worth looking into? Our type internal sound cards are:
