Im currently using an Avalon with a tlm 103. It sounds better with fuller voices though. I want to get another mic preampferrably a tube thats warmer then a TLM 103. Any suggestions? Price range is up to 5k, i just want the right mic for this application.

Do you know of some voice filter software that allows you to process your voice and make it sound like the Strokes' singer (on their first album, "Is This It?"... they dropped the filter on the later releases) ?

Im recording a self hypnosis download and got very good quality with a .wav file but it was too big (177mb) for my server. So I converted it to .mp3. But, the .mp3 file at 41000hz sounds too slow and garbled. I reconverted at 48000 and sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Seems like mp3 work at 44000 hz but that sampling rate isn't supported by mp3 format.

Hi everyone. First post in this part of the woods I believe. I am a keyboard player of many years, I play bass, and I have a decent home studio. I am about 40 years old and I have decided that I want to learn to sing. I dont have basically any natural talent towards this goal either. But as a performing musician and a studio owner, I really want to be able to carry a tune.

I need info ASAP from anyone who has every mic'd anything with this vintage omni dynamic mic. This is for a school project due tomorrow. can't find anything about anyone using this online... the thing must be a piece of junk.
