just wondering what the peeps are using a lot of these days.

I know there old, but i just can't seem to get enough of the Focusrite 6 band EQ, and I almost always start compressing with the fairchild 660.
for limiting, i like the plain jane digirack limiter II.
has anyone used the new III series?

oh yeah, as if i need to say it I'm using Pro Tools.

Dude! You got a Fairchild 660?!?! I fully believe in tracking with hardware compressors and equalizer's. Trying to accomplish it in software just does not yield the same results. Plus, if you are compressing/limiting prior to the analog-to-digital converter, you are in fact increasing the apparent bit depth by making your signal more dense. The focusrite equalizer's are equally good on the input side of things as long as you keep your equalization a little on the modest side. I do it all the time and people never cease to be amazed when I demonstrate things with and without the hardware stuff at the input time of tracking.

A poor child that cannot afford a Fairchild
