Im currently mixing some songs in CubaseSX 2.0.2 and am using a MOTU 828mkII as my main in/out device. I have a pair of reference moniters linked to the main speaker outs and a set of really great altec lansing computer speakers on analog outs 1-2.

They are all working properly as I have to out buses that i can switch between. However in order to switch between these sets of speakers I have to switch the output routing on each individual track. This is a pain in my ass! Is there a simpler way of switching the output routing on all tracks, like with one click?

The most common approach to the task is to have a swictcher after the outputs of the sound card / breakout box. The Mackie Big Knob or the PreSonus Master Station box will both do this.

There are other solutions that aren't so expensive but at minimum, you really should be able to route your system outputs to a couple of different destinations, as well as a seperate phones mix. You should also have mute and dim functions as well as the ability to switch the mix into mono to check for phase problems.

A roundabout way - Create a "Subgroup Channel" from the "Add Track" window. Once you create this subgroup, you will see it avalible as an output bus for all the tracks. Then, assign ALL of your tracks to this subgroup channel (including effects loops). Then, you will have a complete mix on your "Subgroup Channel", and you can simply select which output you want on the Subgroup channel.

I'd have to recommend what Kurt said - for ease of operation, but the subgroup will work in a pinch  .
