What do you guys think of this unit as a 2 channel preamp. The price is really good at about 1300 dollars for 2 channels and its based on Rupert NEEVE preamps. Is it very good for general use?

I think maybe the reason you didn't get a reply is because this pre has been discussed to death. Do a search and you'll find lots of info.
I been able to borrow a 1272 a few times and liked it very much. My favorite was on electric guitar. Some feel it's not as versatile as some other pres but I don't think you'd find many who don't like it.

Oh I should mention my current preamp is an ISA 428. I have been told that this preamp is considered pretty "clean" and the vintech would have quite a bit more "color". I record Rock. ANy thoughts would be great. Thanks
