I need at least 4 more preamp, to allow me to track a full band and this is not happening very often.

I have been doing amateurish recording for about 10 years. Never was solely dedicated to it, but I did take some courses in college for music production and engineering. As a hobby I would help some friends who sang or rapped work on some music. Always worked on making hip hop instrumentals as I am more familiar with that kind of equipment.

Hello, I wanted to start off by saying I feel honored to join a community such as this, i feel like this is a great place to learn a lot of things I need to know to really get started in the world of recording vocals. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have been an artist for 6 years now, and have been recording, mixing and mastering for about 4 years.

This isn't rhetorical question. I really am sincere in wanting to hear opinons from my colleagues as to why so many of us suffer over the "fine" details of a mix.

Understanding that there are huge differences between both song and mix styles; and we all know that recording and mixing a three piece blues act is a lot different from doing the same with modern pop.

I have a macbook pro laptop and my audio interface is the Apogee Duet 2. Whenever I plug my guitars into the Apogeeinterface I've got a hum going on. I can get rid of the hum if I take out my laptops power cable however I then have an issue of the laptop overloading frequently (not running at full capacity without power cable) and running out of battery without the power cable.
