I am looking at buying this as a tube direct box for recording guitars and bass at home. Would this work? Here's the specs...

I was reading in another proaudio forum, that some guys use there API 512's for preamps (in a lunchbox). But what they do different is attach a bigger load (resistor) to the preamp to make it sound smoother.

So this is more of a poll than a question I assume. But lately, my RME converters have been acting funny (I think the clock may be going- or bad optical cabling...not sure yet) so I've just been using my DIGI002r.

Before I send a mix in before mastering, wouldn't it be best if the vocals are just a little louder than most of the mix? Not much just a 1/2 db or db. It just seems like the compression and limiting is going to crush the vox anyway, right? I also like to mix my drums loud, is that a problem?

Hi everyone. I have been trying, with no luck to record my acoustic guitar with a DM-500 dynamic microphone hooked directly to my sound blaster audigy 2 platinum sound cards front Mic in 2 input. It has a level control also. The results are terrible. From looking around on this forum it seems that I need a Preamp to do this properly. Can I use this preamp?

I have the effect unit and The Manual that came with the unit says I can download the DRFX.EXE program from Nady's WEB site but I'll be damned if I can find it. Anyone know where I can get the program

Ive been recording some personal projects and i have done about 20 full songs. I havent used a preamps on anything whatsoever and I'm not completely sure if they would improve my recordings. Is there something I'm missing?

Hey guys,

wondering what is used (as far as brand goes) when wanting to send the one guitar signal (one performance) to 2 units, ie: sending bass signal to amp and preamp from the guitar.

Is there any particular unit commonly used? Would love to get something that has at least 3 outputs.
