Recording audio onto computer, question
Forums
I have been recording onto my laptop for a while and I have Sonar Foundary Acid 3.0. I use a Yamaha Motif 8 keyboard and a Shure 58 mic and I use a mixer before plugging it into the soundcard. My question is how you can get the keyboard and vocal parts to be separate on the computer.

mixing kick & clap in dance music
Forums
When I try to get the kick and the clap to work together it just sounds as the clap is placed above the kick..
I want the kick and clap to be like one sound, not two sounds placed above eachother...
On modern dance music songs the kick and clap sounds like one sound..

Running Cable
Forums
I recently purchased a new home with the decision being based upon a good sized tracking room, and an adequate control room being available. I have a 25x17 Tracking room and a 10x12 control room that will work out perfectly for my needs.

Hello Seb - is it possible to give the VMP range a 1db cut at around 235hz. internally.
I've been listening to some of the demos and, for me. I prefer the Sebatron with this cut.
thanks

Hello Kurt - first - thank you for taking the trouble to do these audio demos. They're very helpful for me.
Congratulations on the job you did on "Song for Life". Nice performance and engineering.
Wireless Headphones Recomendations:
Forums
Hey..
I'm looking for a decent set of wireless headphones that have minimal interference and a reasonable sound. I'm not looking for anything spectacular as I already own Beyer DT770 (my personal favs) - DT250 and 2 DT100's. I just want a nice set of cans to roam about in..
Budget = under £100 pref.
Cheers
K

Have you tried these headSETS?
Forums
I normally record spoken-word voice with a RODE mic while monitoring background tracks with Ultrasone HF1-650 Trackmaster cans. No problem there.
However, I'd like to try recording with a headset (mic + phones), both to get the big broadcasting mic out of my face when I doing a demo on the computer, and to allow for moving around instead of being locked down in the chair.

Well? How does it sound? Is it solid? Does it run smoothly? I've ordered mine and I'll be getting it in a few days for some serious recording :D

How can I get rid of my Aardvark Q10 and record straight int
Forums
Ive been wanting to upgrade my studio with API, great River and UA pre's and a whole bunch of "high-end " compressors and EQ's. Im a still a bit confused with the A/D thing here. I dont want to use the the Aardvark A/D convertes (they are not that bad but I want more). I was thinking of geetting the Apogee Rosetta 800, but how do I send the signal into my PC if I dont have the Aardvark Q10 ?
Drum machine recommendations to be used with acoustic kit
Forums
I want to add some flexibility to my acoustic kit when I play live. Ideally, a drum machine (or midi interface to sampler ), 2-3 padsand 1-2 acoustic triggers) to be used for specials sounds (persussion, hand claps, different snare sounds, hand drums...). Want to keep it simple as well. Like the Roland SP20 - a bit expensive though.
