I recently bought a Win7 laptop for home use. I'm going to try to re-purpose it for use as a 'Rompler'... to replace my Korg and Ensoniq Keyboard WS which are getting ready to die.

I don't need a lot of sequencing... I just need to switch patches quickly. So this is meant to be not much more than a glorified multi-preset keyboard.

Hi! I just got a permanent paid gig with a very well-known and established band. It's my first permanent gig since the 90's. I expect the band to be touring again constantly within a year. Yay for me!

I've been using Ableton 8 and an Axiom 25 controller on a Mac Mini with Native Instruments Razor for a couple of weeks now. It works really well on Mac. However, it was a CPU monster so I literally bought a new PC for the express purpose of running many channels with the Razor plugin . Now I'm getting midi latency.

I've been struggling for a long time to find the right vocal mic. I own an AT 4047, 4033, and Shure sm7b. The problem I have is that I'm a male tenor who can get somewhat piercing when singing in the upper registers of my range. The unpleasantness is very close to the siblance area...in the 5-7 khz range.

Hello. I am new to this forum and waiting for my registration to come through. I have been enjoying making purist recordings in DSD with my Korg MR-1000 with simple stereo mics of live unamplified acoustic performances. It is amazing how good these can be when things are just right. But, my opportunity to capture such things is rare.

I've been loading my EastWest Gold XP Pro Symphonic Orchestra onto a new Windows 7 laptop. I'm finally moving off of my trusty XP desktop. Anyone have any recommendations? Should I take this opportunity (and spend $99) to upgrade to NI's newest "Play" platform?

I'm trying to restore some old tracks that i transferred from years ago into Cubase5. Does anyone know how I can repair really bad phasing issues on just the cymbals? I only have 2 drum tracks to work with (a kick & overhead). I isolated every other part of the drum on different tracks to sound good.

I just got my bi directional mic. Anyone here use m/s technique for only one guitar player, and don't want to double guitar parts, or have the gtr get in the way in the mix. Seems real interesting, because you can sort of choose the width of the mono guitar it seems. at least in theory, since i've yet to try it.

Please forgive my ignorance on this topic. There are some assumptions here based on the packages I have used. I don't like using the word "paradigm" but it fits here. I am using the word paradigm to broadly descrive the approach that a particular DAW has when it comes to editing midi sequence data.
