Intel Core i3-2100 CPU ok for audio production?
I am currently in the works of building a custom PC to be used mainly for audio recording purposes (ill use Cubase, Pro Tools, etc. ) and also will be used a bit for gaming and also for watching HD/Blu ray movies.
I just wanted to hear your opinion on this processor for these purposes and if not, suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)
Looking for information on running a recording session, recording an album
Hello,
Ive been recording for a number of years, but it's just been me in a room with a guitar, a voice, a few gizmos, and Reason for Bass/drums/pianos, etc. At home it doesn't matter if I take forever to get a part right or do things in an inefficient manner.

Problems with drum playback
When I record drums in my home studio and then play it back, I'm having a problem. When listening through my headphones and computer speakers it sounds terrible, but when I listen through my studio monitors it sounds great. So I have no idea which one I should rely on to tell how the drums actually sound. Someone please help me this is so aggravating -________-

Soliciting outboard EQ recommendation
Hey folks, so what are people using these days for outboard EQ?
I usually like to track pure and EQ in the mix but after a series of recording events last night too boring to explain I think I would like to try inserting a EQ into the input chain.
It's my dbx 386 pre that I had in mind. I guess my budget us around $500 and I'll need two channels of parametric EQ.

monitor volume control
hey everyone-
just picked up a pair active monitors, and am looking to build a simple passive volume control for them. Running 1/4" balanced TRS out of my interface into the monitors currently. Don't want to use the software master faders, as I'll lose the all important bit-depth of my digital audio when I have the fader dialed down...

Odd possible playback problem
Hi, got a bit of an odd one here that I'm not sure I trust my ears on. I'm working with a band right now, and since their drummer's feet are all over the place in regard to velocity (pretty typical metal drumming, light on the fast stuff hard on the slower) I've been experimenting with a new technique.

Beginner To Recording. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Whats up everybody? I been checking out this site for some months now and trying to improve my engineering skills but I feel as of now, i'm not improving anymore. I was just wondering if anyone could help me a little bit as of which direction to go in, on improving the quality of my hip hop songs.
iPod Recording Quality
How are iPods for recording music, or for me in particular, singing from a lavalier mic?
I certainly get my best musical inspiration while I’m on the move, and since I’m backpacking across the country this summer, I thought I would wear a lavalier connected to a recorder for fast capture.
