ADAT and other connections
Forums
I was going through the options for budget multitrack interfaces and some don't have Firewire nor USB, but some other connecting ways like ADAT and S/PDIF. I'm specifically talking about Mackie Onyx 800R which I was thinking about getting but my laptop doesn't have those entries . How would I connect that interface on my PC or any PC with usb/Ilink(firewire)?
Thanks.

24 hour recordings - Recommendations?
Forums
I am looking for a stand-alone digital recorder that will:
(1) handle 24+ continuous hours of stereo recording, from a pair of RCA jacks;
(2) cost no more than $350, hopefully a lot less;
(3) create 44KHz, 16-bit WAV files that I can edit with Audacity (i.e. - some way to get them into my computer)

Yamaha ns10 power amp question
Forums
My friend got these monitors off of ebay, and apparently they hook up through speaker wire and not through quarter inch.
So does he need some type of reciever? Will a standard stereo receiver work? What exactly does he need to purchase to hook these up to his sound card?

Studio operation/maintenance/etc?
Forums
Once in awhile I see a good post about a product/tool and its uses for keeping a studio clean and maintained, or aiding the recording process.
However, it's tricky to find them w/o stumbling upon them.
So I was wondering, how about a discussion on this?

drumagog replacement
Forums
my drumagog stopped working and I've been having a lot of bugs with it
(latency and whatnot)
does anyone know any drum replacement plugins that do what drumagog do? I need something that can do the sample replacement and then also do the live replacement, if there is anything that does that.

MP3 bit-rate realities
Forums
With Cubase/Wavelab, I wish to take my WAV file songs and make an MP3 version that I can load on my web site and send via email. I do not care about download times or file sizes. I only care about sound quality being as close to CD as possible.

Burning for home CD players.
Forums
I wish to burn CD’s (using Cubase or Wavelab). However, I would like the format to be able to play directly into (for example) a car CD player. Cubase (and Wavelab) only seem to offer the following formats: w64, wav, aif, mp3, ogg, wma (not CDa).

MP3 BIT RATE CHOICES
Forums
This may be in the wrong section but...
Have any of you ever tested the difference between MP3 sample rates?
Is 320kbit overkill to the human ears?
I have one song I want to send out & want it to sound as good as possible.
