Hye, I'm just wondering, is it suitable to use a home theater system as the speaker and monitor for my home studio?

I'm recording a live venue every week using a Fostex LR16 and bring the multitrack files home to mix using Audacity. I know it's a free program, but I'm hesitant to spend money until I get past a certain learning curve. I can get a decent mix, but when I export the mix as an MP3, it sounds funny. Sounds like "waves"...

Hi all, I just have a quick question regarding that "big" sound we often hear about and doubling the guitars that I haven't seen covered anywhere.

After I viewed Kissys FL Studio video I started searching for some new plugins to work with in my productions and came across this pretty neat Pro Tool Bolger page. This blog provides a list of free RTAS and even VST plugins.

1. As you would expect at a Sweetwater Gearfest there is a lot of focus on gear. But the sales pitch is relatively soft and I did not find it annoying.

I've been playing drums since 2002, guitar 2008, bass 2010, and piano early this year.
I've always mixed my own music, and always have fun with it. Though, most of the time I have a hard time with it.
My problems are usually, when everything is mixed, it usually sounds very.."dirty." What I mean is, it everything sounds sort of put together and isn't clean.
