Mixing Board Question (Please Read)
Hello, I'm new to the forums and wanted to ask a few questions. Over the past few months I've dedicated a lot of my time to music/producing and have put together a home recording studio/setup with a compression booth (It's turned out very nice for what I've put into it).

Mixing question...need help
Thanks in advance to anyone who can advise me on how to create the illusion that the music is surrounding the listener. I'm dealing with instruments and vocal tracks that were all recorded by using close micing. As a result the sound is very one dimensional. I'm try to achieve a sound similar to the late 60's early 70's blues recordings.

House of Worship Mixing Board Recommendations?
Our church is in need of a new mixing board. We are currently using a 16 channel Soundcraft Sprit Live 4-2. We regularly use all 16 mono channels, two stereo channels and the cassette/CD channel. We need either a 24 channel board with a similar number of additional stereo channels or a 32 channel board. (This probably means we need new furniture, but that's another story.)

Mixing for your target audience
I read somewhere recently that it is good to listen to the mix at various levels, so as to provide a balanced mix that sounds good at low, medium, and high levels.
Mastering and mixing for movie scores- any difference?
When a movie is made, and there is an accompanying soundtrack of music, is this music produced differently than if it was strictly for audio release? Are there studios out there that specialize in working on music intended for film scores?
Studio Mixing Chair
What do you all use for a mixing chair? high back vs low back
I have nice high back leather chair but don't use it because I'm concerned I will get some imaging and possibly even higher frequency reflection issues effecting my mix from the sound hitting the back near my ears, so I stick with a low back.

Mixing in mono
The majority of music I want to record is based around acoustic blues/rock guitar. While my approach to tracking and mixing is sure to change over time as I learn more, I have already developed certain technical preferences. I know I like to use just one well placed mic, and double track the guitar parts, panning left and right somewhat.
