I hope this is the correct forum. I am looking for a 'good' pair of monitors for my home studio. I am currently looking at the Mackie HR624 and Event 20/20bas monitors. I have raised my budget to consider these choices. I can get a pair of Mackies for $839.90USD new and the Events for around $899USD new.

Anybody had any experience with them or their 0 300 followup model? How do they compare with the likes of Dynaudio, Genelec etc?

i am thinking to change monitoring system in my studio.now i have Genelec 1032 with sub system, but nearby studio is selling Dynaudio m3 with external Dynaudio amps for 5000 euro.
any experiences or recommendations?

As you know I am looking for some active nearfeils in the GBP£1,600 price range.

Then I thought what if I got second-hand? I could get some truly GREAT ones!

But where to buy from? I searched Google and I couldn't find a lot. Are there any good places to buy high-end second-hand studio stuff? I can't find any! Only new equipment!

I know that on occaission I tend to push for very expensive monitors when the topic comes up, so I thought I might list some reasons to consider going for the very best you can.

OK. Here is my situation.

I have a 15x12x9 control room, that has been designed with the RFZ principles.

I am currently using a pair of Event PS5's in it (which I hate, but have become very farmiliar with)

I am looking at upgrading to either:
Mackie HR824s
Tannoy System 800A
Blue Sky System One 3.1

Where would you put your money when buying monitors that translate the best for the buck to the real world? These monitors currently represent my budget, and are on the final block for consideration...
Event ASP-8's ($)
DynAudio BM6a's ($$)
Adam P11-A's ($$$)
Mackie 824's ($)
Genelec 1030's ($$$)

I just want to know if i can get decent results mixing with these monitors. I know they are not studio monitors but they are very good speakers. Anyone has any experience with these? are they flat? thanks for your help
