MAC Interface with least noise out of Preamps?

I'm upgrading my studio. Have a M-Audio Firewire 410 interface that's been giving me all sorts of trouble (software interface is buggy, drops out and comes back garbled, etc.).

Been looking hard at the PreSonus Firestudio (8 XLR Pres, 26x26 total with the optical I/O - never used the optical I/O on the 410, but need to experiment with that...need cables yet).

Recording vocals on laptop-so much noise coming from within

Hi. So I just bought a new laptop, nothing fancy some simple hp pavilion one. Right now I don't even have a mic plugged in and my empty recordings are choke full of noise. Hell I can even capture my own voice if i talk loud enough to the machine without a mic or any kind of sound input device on. I don't know if that's common but I thought it was very amusing.

Weird noise coming from KRK Rokit 6 Something Loose?

So I just finished my studio hooked everything back up and tried tracking my mesa single rectifier and 4x12 (miked one speaker) Anyways anytime the track got a little bass heavy my left speaker sounded like something was fluttering inside. I hit the roll off switch on my pre and it took it away for last nite but I think something's wrong because it was only the one speaker not both.

removing noise between Korg Triton and Universal Audio pre

Gents,

In our new studio we've a Triton workstation on a back console pluged into a clean isolated/grounded power source.

From the left/right Main output on the Triton we've connected it to a 2 channel Universal Audio 2-610 Tube Preamp which sets at the front console, powered by a totally separate clean isolated/grounded circuit.
