Hi, I'm brand new on this board and just found it through a Google search.

I'm new to home recording, so just dipping my toe in. It looks like I can get a used Tascam Portastudio DP-02 for around $100.00 on CL or eBay.

Teac has closed their Montebello, CA location.

They've been there for years.

I don't think that they are folding up or anything, but it sure looks like they are certainly downsizing, which can also be a pretty bad word, too.

I wonder how many of us here got our start on Teac/Tascam gear...

I am using a Tascam US1800 interface with my PC running windows 7 home premium and pro tools 11.

Whats peoples views on the Tascam 38?
I already have a Teac 80-8 and lately Ive been in touch with someone who wants rid of a 38. Is there much of a difference between the two machines?

probably a stupid question but thought i would ask before i ruined something, but do i remove the cards from a Tascam tsr 8 by simply unscrewing the bottom plate and pulling them out? (with reasonable force?)

it's not in the users manual.

Hello, first timer here. I think I lost some tracke on this recorder. They were there to play back thru my PA but I think they are gone. There is a 73 minutes protected. Is it possible to loose the tracka or are they in the hard drive and able to be pulled out? thanks

A couple of weeks ago I had to upgrade from a 4 track Tascam Portastudio 414mk2 cassette to a Tascam DP03 digital recorder because I couldnt find new blank cassettes and I dont use ebay.So,I upgraded.Brought a brand new DP03.I have it set up with:
Roland RD700sx stage piano,
Roland KC350 amp and a
mic with XLR plug.

Got a problem with the "play" button. If I press it to start the tape, nothing happens for a full couple of minutes. Why the delay do you think? Thanks in advance.
