Well I did a good job of future proofing my new build:
SSDs, i5 3570 3rd gen cpu, Firewire 800 card.

I always like to pass along information on new stuff I get to hear at my local Professional Audio Store that I think will aid and abet those who frequent these pages. Today its a recommendation for monitors.

So I just converted over the Mac for my recording needs and I've never had this issue before:

My signal chain is Guitar -> Audio Box USB -> Logic 9.

I have got to the point where i need to build a new PC as a DAW as my old Athlon machine just won't cut it anymore with all the new software i am running
i.e. Superior Drummer 2.0, EZKeys, Pod Farm plugins etc. Also I want to upgrade to using Pro Tools 10.

The question is for Audio am i better with a xeon or an i7?
