just brought home a new Really Nice Compressor. plugged my bass into it then into a bass pre into my amp. first way i'll use it, so tried that first. whenever compression is triggered i hear what sounds like digital distortion. it is connected to left (mono) in and left out by 1/4'' instrument cables. do i return it or am i to blame? thanks.

Benchmark ADC-1 and DAC-1?
Rosetta 200?

I am currently using PT7 and looking for a Digital control board. I have looked at the Control|24, however, it is dated, but inexpensive. I have been reading on the new Mackie Digital X Bus, and I am interested in it as well. It runs at retail, 4k more than the Digidesign, however, it has 2 15" touch screen monitors built in.

I saw a new Korg DIgital 32 track mixer any thoughts on that with pro tools or how it works with other software..or if you have seen a better digital mixer

Hey all. question. How do you guys deal with mixing, with analog consoles? do most people, use, there inserts as outputs to there converters? or, the direct outs? so, the signal passes on the way, in, and, then mixing is done in the DAW>?

Do some, run the ins and outs, of there soundcard to there analog mixer? and if so, how do you approach this?

I have a question that I have been pouring over for some time now & I'm wondering what some your ideas might be. This is my meager, but slowly improving, setup….

I'm looking into purchasing a digital piano or synthesizer in the $300.00 - $400.00 (max) price range. I'm looking for something that has a quality piano sound and something that has quality string sounds. I know this probably sounds impossible at this price range but any advice is appreciated.

Let us verify how many users down here use a digital board, no matter if it is just as a controller for your main daw ( Pro Tools, Nuendo, Logic, Sonar, etc), as a source of additional mic preamps, summing, etc.

:shock: I would welcome some set up help. I have an audigy 2Zs and Yamaha MG 10/2 and a Keyboard. At one time I had it set up and working properly but I had to disconnect the setup. And now I cannot get the proper connection again!. I am running the home version of Cake Walk.
