Acoustic Guitar Recording on a miniscule budget
I'll start by saying I have no prior recording experience of any instrument. I've read up on recording an acoustic guitar and have come across a variety of different views. I'm not fussy about sound quality (and I have no right to be with my budget :D); all I want is an end-product that the majority of people would have no problem listening to in terms of sound quality.
Most Realistic metal guitar synth?
Under 600 dollars. I've only seen the virtual guitarist as an option for midi guitar. Can anyone recommend others?
I want to sound like Tool/metallica/ac/dc, metal sound
Thanks

combo keyboard-guitar amp
I know that the lows and highs are different with keyboard amps as compared to guitar amps but is there a compromise amp that has power and lows for keyboard and have good mids and highs for guitars in the $600.00-$700.00 range in one amp?

stereo linking guitar amps
I have two different amp heads and boxes and was wondering if I could use my boss chorus pedal which has a stereo output to link them. Does this mean (provided that there is no spill ie each amp in its own soundproofed room) I could record from the two amps simultaneously? I was thinking it would be cool if i used two mics on each box and got 4 guitar sounds to choose from or blend.

recording acoustic guitar outriggers
Some people record acoustic guitar with a X/Y (or M/S) stereo-pair plus closeup outriggers.
Any suggestions
mics (outriggers) : omni or card ?
mics: placement ?
mixing ?
phase problems ?
more links ?
... ?

acoustic guitar, MS-miking, doubled?
Greetings all, I have a question about MS techniques. I've been recording for many years but I've never experimented with this technique as I've never owned a mic with a fig-8 pattern.
I'll be recording acoustic guitar in the context of a rock band. A lot of the rhythms are up tempo, strummy, driving rhythms and work well when doubled.

Micing Electric Guitar Amp!
So ive heard that IF you mic up the amp of your guitar that it will sound better than if you just plug into into you 1/4 input jack. I really dont get how that could make it sound better. If you just plug a guitar in normally wouldnt it be better becasue there is less un wanted noise getting in?
Any ways i want to try it and see if i can get a cool sound.

Guitar Doubling
Can anyone tell me why when I record two guitar parts with no changes in amp settings or mic positions and pan them both hard to one side it sounds like sh*te(single sounds better than double. Double sounds hollow and distant)? If I pan one hard left and then one around 11 o'clock it sounds fine. Is this some kind of phase issue or frequency boosting thing or what?

Guitar Recording Tip
I am sure some of you do this already, But I am really getting into the Sm57 angled and Senny 421 on the grill trick . Its nice to vary the two mics, and with a bit of compression, it really fattens up the tone.
just 2 cents
