Does anyone on here know how the Millennia TD-1 compares to the UA Solo 610? I will be mainly using the DI for bass and guitars and maybe vocals through the pre.

In 2001 Universal Audio started it's line of plugins/DSP cards with a model of its own UA 1176. Their model of the 1176 was very good, but as you'd expect they've learned a lot over the last 10 years and a number of their recent plugins are more complex. A lot of people have been lobbying for them to go back and redo their old plugins and it looks like they've been listening.

I just got an email from UA. I don't think they intended it to be shared with everyone otherwise there would have been a weblink. I just wanted to share the gist of the email. Essentially they were letting UAD-1 and UAD-1e users know that as of the next update to UAD drivers, the UAD-1 and UAD-1e cards will no longer be supported. Nice though that they are offering a generous trade in option.

Jeff, you are killing me, did your LA-2A arrive yet, how do you like it?

I'm seriously considering getting one of these. Before my aI'm was at SSL Alpha VHD or ISA 428 but my sales rep asked me to consider this.
With 1176 style compression on each channel, variable tube distortion and an AD converter to expand my FF 800 it seems like a pretty solid deal.

But how does it sound?

This has me kind of excited. Thunderbolt is here and this interface has me wanting to spend more money.
