Yamaha MSP5 studio monitors...

retail at £299 approx. hoping to get them on ebay, 2nd hand for £200 or so.

I am looking for some good recording and mixing monitors in one..and have read good things.

I want to be able to hear what's going on (within reason..no need for Genelecs or anythin!) and also get a good representation of what it might sound like on other peoples stereos etc.

..and if it wasn't already apparent..money is an issue. I don't want to spend more than £250 really. Be aware I'm only a entry level user at the moment, so don't need anything pro-standard.

ANY ADVICE?

I had looked into getting these, especially after reading Kurt's review, but after poking around the 'net a bit more, I found numerous complaints of various parts of the cabinet rattling and resonating with low notes. That said I also heard a lot of praise, but since I had more money to spend than what they cost, I went with Dynaudios.

i think that a lot of the cabinate rattle is the result of just setting them on the desk, get some aulerex mo pads. the resone on dont really beleave that the cabs rattle is 1: they are really not bass heavy, and 2: the cabs are made of thick molded plastics, there are simply not many parts to rattle. now ive heard a rattle on the shelf in the cables, but never the cab.
